It’s all going down at the Knights for February’s Sister Spokesman Event. Our theme is Getting Glamorous in 2012. This month’s Sister Spokesman Event will look at the importance of taking time out for your personal care. We’ll learn how to look like a million dollars on a dollar budget.
Sister Spokesman held it’s first event of 2012 on January 7,
2012. The theme was Domestic Violence.
It all went down on Saturday December 3rd at the Minneapolis Urban League (MUL). This was a first at this location, however a good location with a good turnout. This month’s theme: Holiday Bazaar
On Saturday, November 5, 2011, the United Methodist Women of Camphor UM Church sponsored their Annual Chili Luncheon and Craft Show. It was held from 9:00am – 3:00pm at 585 Fuller in St. Paul.
The ladies of Sister Spokesman were at one of our beloved locations in Minneapolis on October 1, 2011. The theme: Grandparents Raising Grandkids. This is a topic many in our community can certainly relate to as more and more grandparents are raising their grandkids.
It all went down in Bloomington at the Knights of Columbus on Saturday, July 30th. The theme was Relationships: What works and what doesn’t.
The February Sister Spokesmans event features Pam White, R.N. of Health Empowerment Resourses (HER), representing UCare, who will be speak ing on the topic of HIV awareness and prevention for African American women.
Please join Sister Spokesman this month where the theme is Black Women experiences and hip hop culture. This topic is certain to enlighten us as we look back on the last two decades. Desserts and more will on sale with a variety of items to choose from. Sweet Vette’s Desserts will have those down home, mouth watering favorites and one of her newest menu items.
The last Sister Spokesman Event of 2010 will be happening at Arnellia’s. Our theme this month is “Belly Dancing”. Featured this month is Banat el Kamar which is the longest running community education belly dance program in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. The theme is certain to spark some chatter and encouragement to get exercise and move parts of your body that perhaps you haven’t move in a while.
On Saturday, December 4th, Camphor United Methodist Church held it’s Annual Chili Luncheon and Craft Show from 9:00am – 4:00pm. The earlier part of the morning browsers wondered from booth to booth viewing handmade products from jewelry, desserts, photography and other specialties. While in the afternoon, it was a combination downing bowls of chili, buying items and tasting samples of homemade desserts.
