Sister Spokesman Event – December 2011
It all went down on Saturday December 3rd at the Minneapolis Urban League (MUL). This was a first at this location, however a good location with a good turnout. This month’s theme: Holiday Bazaar
It was a good time by all who entered with many, many vendors on hand to help kick off your holiday shopping. Since shopping is relaxing and a true get-a-way for the ladies, there were plenty of great items and sales to choose from.
I strolled the vendor’s booths and purchased a beautiful handmade quality bracelet from Bev of Blu Mango Accessories. I justified my purchase of the bracelet knowing I’m worth it in addition to showing some love to my fellow vendors. I stopped at another vendor’s booth. Reggie makes incense. I purchased a 100/pack of incense called Versace Blue Jeans. With the many meals that’s prepared at Sweet Vette’s Desserts, burning an incense and slightly opening my kitchen window gives the home a fresh and pleasant smell throughout.
Sweet Vette’s Desserts served up turkey salad and grapes with rotini to the crowd. The salad was served with buttered croissants. The crowd enjoyed the salad and croissants. Also on hand was mouth watering Louisiana banana puddings, down home sweet potato pies, peach cobblers, hot out-of-the-oven banana nut breads, pound cake and apple pie. My desserts are packaged as single serves and whole desserts. My desserts are always fresh because they are baked the early morning of a given event. Customers like knowing the desserts have just come out of the oven as they are often still warm when purchased.
This month’s event had another treat for the crowd. Ms. Tina who is a dance instructor and teaches line dancing was in the house. She and a group of line dancers performed a number of dances included my favorite “Woba Baby” along with two other electric slide dances. I took part in two of the three slides. There’s nothing like getting some exercise when given the opportunity. The electric slide dances are
fun and definitely a crowd pleaser.
Sister Spokesman is a free monthly event. There’s a great opportunity to network and enjoy games, door prizes and the opportunity to win “the Sugar Bowl” in addition to scoping out all the great vendors and products.
It’s not too early to give a call to place your Christmas order for some southern style down home desserts from Sweet Vette’s. If you are interested in any special desserts to grace your table during this holiday season, give me a call.
For the month of December, I’m promoting sales on buy one dessert and get second half priced and buy two desserts and get the third item FREE.
Thanks for your support.
Happy Holidays, Sweet Vette’s Desserts
