Planting Seeds of Tomorrow

0

Sweet Vettes had the pleasure of catering to a group of African American males who are planting seeds of tomorrow.  The event took place mid July at a church in St. Paul.

The young men in this group are high school and college age students.  They are our leaders of tomorrow who guide, mentor and support one another.  They also have an ear for listening and encouraging another brother who may not have a voice or those who may be struggling and trying to find their way.   Their work reaches a wide audience here in the Twin Cities and nationally.  This group is part of an eight city pilot project around the country.

These young men and their family were part of an evening of conversations, poetry, spoken words and insight.  Sweet Vettes services were rendered for this event.  On the menu was baked chicken, potato salad, butter and rolls, deli smoked turkey and honey ham, tuna, assorted cheeses, Vienna bread, lettuce, tomatoes, pickle spears and a bag of chips.  The deserts included a large fruit tray, hot out of the oven sweet potato pies and that mouth watering signature item Louisiana banana pudding.

The young leaders of tomorrow are determined to beat the odds and become successful in addition to giving back to their communities.  A number of inspiring performances took place.  The talents in this group of young men were absolutely phenomenal.  Performances ranged from poetry, a bit of rapping and some acting as well.  This event highlighted the seeds of tomorrow and when nurturing and opportunity meets all of us can win.  It was totally refreshing seeing my young brothers make a difference and bring awareness to the work that they do.

If you know of any small to medium size groups in need of catering services or deserts, please do not hesitate to contact me.  Sweet Vettes Desserts would love the opportunity to serve you.
